General Info

The Cattleweb Online Auction is a new feature of the Cattleweb Website. Our goal is to provide convienent, cost effective, solutions for sellers and auctioners, wanting an interactive auction on the internet, via a web site. We believe this auction program is the best way to carry out the process over the internet, and we are sure many will benefit from it!

Registration

The Cattleweb Online Auction includes a very extensive registration form. The purpose of this is to ensure security and safe transactions while participating in the Cattleweb Online Auction.

The information that is submitted in the registration form, is sent to the respective auctioneer - the auctioneer than processes the information given, more specifically, the bank reference. After that information has gone through a reference process, the auctioneer than adds the person to the bidder pool, for the respective auction. When that happens, the username and a random-generated password is emailed to the registeree, so when the auction takes place, he will have bidding privledges.

Usernames and Passwords

On the registration form, there is a place so you may request a username. Due to the extreme number of users of the Cattleweb Online Auction, the auctioneer may alter the suggested username, by adding a two digit number to the username. This is necessary to ensure authenticy of the usernames.

When you recieve your username and password via email, you will notice that the password is randomly-generated, therefore being an encrypted set of numbers and letters. Although this maybe difficult to remember, we strongly suggest you use an encrypted password, i.e. a word not in the dictionary, using letters and numbers. However, if you would like to change your password, that feature is availble once you login to the Cattleweb Online Auction.

Bidding

The Cattleweb Online Auction is run the same way a live auction is run. The item(s) for sell are set a starting price, and the bidding opens for a certain amount of time. In that period of time, registered users are able to bid on the product for sale, as many times as they want to, in order to outbid competing bidders. Once the time allocated for the auction of the product has ceased, the user with the highest bid will purchase the product for that price.

The first step in bidding on the Cattleweb Online Auction, is to find a product (in this case, cattle) to bid on. Once you have made that decision, you will need to place a bid on it. There will already be a starting bid, and the increments of bids usually run anywhere between $5 and $20.

All bids are processed instantly, which gives you the advantage of seeing all of your competitors bids, all of the time. This is very useful, so you can make your bids as accurate as possible, making the possibility of over-bidding very nominal.

Once the auction has ceased on the item up for bid, the winner will be notified via email of their purchase, and also be announced on the Cattleweb Online Auction website.

Good Luck!
